Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller for personal data processed on www.cloudapp.dev is Evi Gruber (address and tax number: see Imprint). Privacy requests to info@cloudapp.dev.
2. Hosting and server log files
The website runs on its own server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. For every page request the web server automatically records the IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer and browser identifier. This is needed to run the site and to defend against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted automatically after 14 days.
3. Fonts and images
Fonts and images are served from our own server. When you visit the website, your browser loads no content from third-party servers; the only exceptions are the services described in sections 5 and 7, and only once you use them.
4. Audience measurement with Umami
We measure audience with Umami, self-hosted on our own server. Umami sets no cookies and does not store full IP addresses; it records the page viewed, referrer, device type, browser and the country derived from the IP. The data does not leave our server (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address, the language you chose, the form you signed up through, and the time and status of your confirmation. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you first receive an email with a confirmation link, and no subscription is created without confirmation. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every issue.
Sending and storage are handled by Resend, Inc. (USA) as a processor. Resend is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition.
The sign-up form is protected against automated sign-ups by Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). The Cloudflare script only loads once you click or type into the form. It then transmits device and browser characteristics and your IP address to Cloudflare (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Contact by email
If you email us, we use your details only to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed for that.
7. Comments (GitHub Discussions via Giscus)
You can comment below posts about Home Assistant and HACS. The comment section only loads when you scroll close to it; before that, no data is sent to third parties. When it loads, giscus.app (an open-source service) and GitHub, Inc. (USA) receive your IP address (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To comment, you sign in with your GitHub account. Your comment is stored publicly, together with your GitHub username, in GitHub Discussions in the cloudapp.dev repository and shown on this website. GitHub's privacy statement applies in addition. You can edit or delete your comments on GitHub yourself at any time, or ask us to delete them. GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not review comments before they are published. We remove unlawful content as soon as we become aware of it; reports to info@cloudapp.dev.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to withdraw consent with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
We do not sell data and do not run ads.
