I write here about Home Assistant, self-hosting, and the infrastructure it all runs on. The newsletter collects what has been added since the last issue, together with a short note from my own setup: what I changed, built or had to fix in the meantime.
What is in it
The posts published in the last two weeks, each with a sentence on what it covers. Then a note from running the setup myself: what I changed or built, what an update broke, which assumption turned out to be wrong.
How often
Every two weeks. Not weekly: this site averages a bit over two posts a week, but individual weeks come out empty, and an issue carrying a single link is not an issue.
What has gone out so far
The first issue went out on 20 August and carried four posts: rebuilding Home Assistant from a backup with the run timed end to end, why the config folder alone is not a backup, dashboards built from stock cards, and the licence audit of 1,434 repositories. That is the shape of it — the posts of the fortnight, each with a sentence on what it covers, and no filler to pad a thin issue.
What does not happen
No paid placements, no sharing your address with anyone. Signing up uses double opt-in, so nothing starts until you confirm, and every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe.
